- Siân Pile on Axis
"Although Siân Pile's work is purely photographic, she presents – in almost minimalist style – a sense of gesture within the landscape. The red cordon ribbon holds nothing 'in' or 'out' other than the space it defines. The subject – as in other images of the same series – is not randomly chosen neither it is documentary in nature."
Clare Grafik, curator at the Photographers' Gallery, London, from 'Gesture: Subject and Object' an online exhibition curated by Clare Grafik for axisweb 2007.
